Two-phase model

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012380

A conceptual model used to describe the morphology of semicrystalline polymers, which are considered to consist of distinct crystalline and amorphous regions. These two phases coexist within the material, with the crystalline regions providing rigidity and the amorphous regions contributing to flexibility. This model is a simplification, as a third interphase region often exists between the two main phases.
