Electrified interphase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003648
The region between two conducting phases, such as an electrode and an electrolyte, where a separation of charge exists. This region is not electrically neutral and contains an electrical double layer, resulting in a potential difference across the interface. The structure and properties of this interphase govern the kinetics of electrochemical reactions occurring at the boundary between the two phases.
