Ultrafine particle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012395

A particulate matter with a diameter less than 100 nanometers (0.1 micrometer). These particles are of particular concern in toxicology due to their small size, which allows them to penetrate deeply into the respiratory system and potentially translocate to other organs. Ultrafine particles can originate from combustion processes, industrial emissions, and natural sources.
