Apochromatic
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000247
Describing an optical system, such as a lens, that corrects for chromatic aberration at three specific wavelengths, bringing them to a common focus. This advanced correction also minimizes spherical aberration for two wavelengths, resulting in images with exceptional color fidelity and contrast. Apochromatic lenses are used in high-end imaging and scientific instrumentation.
