Chromatic aberration
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001113
An optical defect in which a lens fails to focus all colors of light to the same convergence point. This occurs because the refractive index of glass varies with the wavelength of light, causing different colors to be refracted at slightly different angles. It results in color fringes around objects, particularly noticeable at high contrast edges.
