Achromat

A type of lens or lens system designed to correct for chromatic aberration, a distortion where different colors of light focus at different points. This correction is achieved by combining two or more lens elements made from glasses with different dispersive properties. An achromat brings two wavelengths of light, usually red and blue, to a common focal point.
