Longitudinal aberration
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003424
A type of optical aberration where different wavelengths of light or rays from different parts of the aperture are focused at different positions along the optical axis. This causes a blurring of the image because not all colors or rays converge at the same point. It is also known as axial chromatic aberration or spherical aberration when referring to monochromatic light.
