Chromatic aberration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002039
An optical distortion where different wavelengths of light are focused at different positions due to the dispersion of light as it passes through a lens or optical system. This results in color fringes or blurred images, as the refractive index of the material varies with wavelength. It is a common issue in microscopy and spectroscopy, often corrected using achromatic lenses.
