Chromatid

One of two identical copies of a replicated chromosome, joined together by a centromere, which separates during cell division. Each chromatid contains a complete DNA molecule. Sister chromatids are formed during the S phase of the cell cycle and are distributed to daughter cells during mitosis or meiosis.
