Telophase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011848
The final stage of nuclear division in both mitosis and meiosis, occurring after anaphase. During this phase, the separated sets of chromosomes arrive at opposite poles of the cell, decondense back into chromatin, and become enclosed by newly formed nuclear envelopes. Telophase is typically followed by cytokinesis, the process that divides the cytoplasm to form two distinct daughter cells.
