Anaphase lag
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000563
The phenomenon where one or more chromosomes or chromatids fail to move properly to the spindle poles during anaphase, lagging behind the main group. This irregular segregation can lead to aneuploidy, where daughter cells receive an abnormal number of chromosomes. It is a common cause of chromosomal abnormalities.
