Aneuploidy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000588
A cellular condition characterized by an atypical count of chromosomes, deviating from the normal diploid number for a species. This chromosomal imbalance can arise from errors during cell division, such as nondisjunction. Such genetic alterations are frequently observed in cancer cells and can lead to developmental disorders.
