Barry
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000443
A visual defect in dyed or finished textiles characterized by unintended horizontal streaks or bands of a different shade or color. This flaw arises from inconsistencies in the yarn, knitting tension, or dyeing process, causing variations in dye uptake along the fabric's width. Barry effects are a common cause for classifying fabric as second-quality, as they disrupt the uniform appearance of the final product.
