Corona discharge

A luminous electrical discharge that occurs when an electric field around a conductor is strong enough to ionize the surrounding air, but not strong enough to cause a complete breakdown or arc. It is often observed as a faint glow or audible hiss near high-voltage equipment. This phenomenon can lead to power loss and electromagnetic interference.
