Fishmouth
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002302
A wrinkle or pucker that forms in the overlap of roofing plies, particularly in built-up roofing systems, where the edges of the felt or membrane lift away from the substrate. This defect is often caused by trapped air, moisture, or improper application during installation. Fishmouths can compromise the watertightness of the roof and lead to premature failure if not properly addressed.
