Hardface

To apply a wear-resistant material to the surface of a component, extending its service life in abrasive or corrosive environments. This process involves welding or spraying a layer of harder alloy onto a softer base material. Hardfacing alloys often contain carbides of tungsten, chromium, or titanium.
