Kruppize

To apply a specific method of case-hardening to a steel plate, a process developed by the Krupp company of Germany in the late 19th century. The technique involved carburizing the face of a low-carbon steel plate, creating an extremely hard outer surface, while the back of the plate was left tough and ductile to resist cracking. This composite armor, known as Krupp armor, was a standard for naval warships before World War I.
