Lossy
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003437
Describing a system or component that dissipates a portion of the energy passing through it, converting it into an unusable form, typically heat. In electrical engineering, a lossy transmission line attenuates the signal as it propagates, reducing its amplitude over distance. This characteristic is quantified by parameters such as insertion loss or return loss.
