Matrixing

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003563

The process of arranging and interconnecting multiple electronic components, such as switches or sensors, in a grid-like structure to reduce the number of input/output lines required. This technique allows for efficient scanning and reading of states from a larger number of elements using fewer control signals. It finds application in keypads, display panels, and sensor arrays where space and wiring complexity are considerations.
