Medium scale integration
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003583
A classification of integrated circuits containing hundreds of transistors on a single chip, developed in the mid-1960s. This level of integration allowed for the creation of more complex logic gates, multiplexers, and decoders than small-scale integration (SSI). MSI chips were instrumental in the development of early minicomputers.
