Very-large-scale

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006442

Relating to the process of creating an integrated circuit by combining millions or billions of transistors onto a single silicon chip. This level of integration, known as Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI), followed large-scale integration (LSI) and enabled the development of complex microprocessors and memory chips. A circuit is generally classified as VLSI if it contains more than 100,000 transistors, though modern devices far exceed this threshold.
