Medium-Scale Integration (MSI): A classification of integrated circuits containing hundreds of transistors on a single chip. These circuits perform more complex functions than Small-Scale Integration (SSI) devices but are less complex than Large-Scale Integration (LSI) circuits. Examples include multiplexers, decoders, counters, and registers, which are fundamental building blocks in digital systems.
