Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003609
A light ray that lies within a plane containing the optical axis of a rotationally symmetric optical system. These rays pass through the center of the system's aperture and remain in the same plane as they propagate. They are often used in ray tracing to analyze the imaging properties of lenses and mirrors.
