Stoping

The process of extracting ore from an underground mine by creating large, open excavations called stopes. This involves drilling, blasting, and removing the ore, while often leaving behind waste rock or backfill to support the surrounding ground. Common stoping methods include cut-and-fill, room-and-pillar, and shrinkage stoping.
