Swirl flap

A small, butterfly-shaped valve located within the intake manifold of some internal combustion engines, particularly diesels. Its purpose is to create a swirling motion in the incoming air at low engine speeds, improving air-fuel mixing and combustion efficiency. These flaps can sometimes fail, leading to engine performance issues.
