Travelling-wave tube
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006160
A high-power vacuum tube used to amplify microwave signals, particularly in radar, satellite communications, and electronic warfare systems. It operates by passing an electron beam through a slow-wave structure, which interacts with the input radio frequency signal to achieve amplification. TWTs can generate output powers ranging from watts to kilowatts across broad frequency bands.
