Ungreen

Describing lumber or timber that has been seasoned or dried to reduce its moisture content below the fiber saturation point. This drying process, accomplished through air drying or kiln drying, increases the wood's strength, stability, and resistance to decay and insect attack. For most interior woodworking and construction applications, lumber is dried to a moisture content between 6 and 12 percent, whereas green wood can have a moisture content exceeding 30 percent.
