Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-001283

A set of airborne concentration limits for hazardous substances used to guide protective actions during an emergency release. These values, such as Emergency Response Planning Guidelines (ERPGs), provide thresholds for potential health effects ranging from mild, transient effects to life-threatening consequences. For example, ERPG-2 is the maximum airborne concentration below which it is believed that nearly all individuals could be exposed for up to one hour without experiencing irreversible or other serious health effects.
