Circular reasoning

A logical fallacy where the premise of an argument assumes the truth of its conclusion, rather than offering independent support for it. The argument's validity relies on the very point it seeks to prove, leading to an unproductive and unpersuasive line of thought. This type of fallacy is often identified in legal briefs and judicial opinions.
