Clayton Antitrust Act

A federal statute enacted in 1914 that strengthened the Sherman Antitrust Act by prohibiting specific anti-competitive practices not covered by the earlier law. It outlawed price discrimination, tying agreements, exclusive dealing contracts, and mergers that substantially lessen competition or tend to create a monopoly. The Act also exempted labor unions from antitrust prosecution.
