Tying arrangement

An anti-competitive practice where a seller conditions the sale of one product or service (the tying product) on the buyer's agreement to purchase a different product or service (the tied product). This practice can violate antitrust laws if it substantially lessens competition in the market for the tied product. Such arrangements are scrutinized under the Sherman Act and Clayton Act.
