Denial

A formal statement in a legal pleading, such as an answer to a complaint, in which a party disputes the truth or validity of an allegation made by the opposing party. A denial requires the party making the allegation to prove its truth. It can be a general denial, refuting all allegations, or a specific denial, addressing each allegation individually.
