General denial

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-002286

A pleading in which a defendant denies all allegations made by the plaintiff in a complaint, without specifically addressing each one. This type of denial asserts that none of the plaintiff's claims are true. Many jurisdictions require more specific responses, limiting the use of general denials to cases where every allegation can genuinely be contested.
