Endorsement

A signature on the back of a negotiable instrument, such as a check, bill of exchange, or promissory note, that transfers the rights of the holder to another party. It can also refer to an amendment or addition to an insurance policy that modifies the terms of the original contract. In insurance, an endorsement can add or remove coverage, change deductibles, or alter policy conditions.
