Blank endorsement

A signature on a negotiable instrument, such as a check, without specifying to whom the instrument is payable. This type of endorsement makes the instrument payable to the bearer, meaning anyone who possesses it can cash or deposit it. It converts order paper into bearer paper, increasing its negotiability but also its risk.
