Restrictive endorsement

An endorsement on a negotiable instrument, such as a check, that limits its further negotiation or specifies how the funds are to be used. The most common form is "For Deposit Only," which directs the bank to deposit the funds only into the payee's account. This type of endorsement prevents the instrument from being cashed by anyone other than the designated payee or deposited into an unauthorized account.
