Qualified indorsement (endorsement)

An indorsement on a negotiable instrument that limits the indorser's liability. The most common form is "without recourse," which means the indorser is not guaranteeing payment if the maker or drawer defaults. This type of indorsement transfers title to the instrument but restricts the indorser's contractual obligation to pay.
