Enumerated powers

Specific powers explicitly granted to a branch of government in a constitution, particularly those given to the U.S. Congress in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. These powers include the authority to declare war, coin money, and regulate interstate commerce. Any powers not expressly enumerated are generally reserved to the states or the people.
