Exculpatory evidence

Information or testimony that tends to prove a defendant's innocence or mitigate their culpability for a crime. This evidence can include alibis, witness statements, or forensic findings that contradict the prosecution's case. Prosecutors are constitutionally obligated to disclose all material exculpatory evidence to the defense.
Evidence indicating that a defendant did not commit the crime.
