Brady material

Exculpatory or impeachment evidence that is favorable to the defendant and material to either guilt or punishment, which the prosecution must disclose to the defense. This obligation arises from the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution. Failure to disclose such evidence can lead to a reversal of conviction.
