Felony murder rule

A legal principle that holds an individual liable for murder if a death occurs during the commission or attempted commission of a dangerous felony, regardless of whether the individual intended to cause the death. The underlying felony provides the requisite malice for a murder conviction. This rule is applied with varying limitations across different jurisdictions.
