Murder
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-003335
The unlawful killing of another human being with malice aforethought, meaning an intent to kill, an intent to inflict serious bodily harm, extreme recklessness showing indifference to human life, or a death caused during certain dangerous felonies. Murder is typically divided into degrees, and premeditation and deliberation are what separate first-degree murder from other murder in many states. It is punished more severely than manslaughter, which lacks malice aforethought.
