High seas

All parts of the sea that lie outside the exclusive economic zone, territorial sea and internal waters of any state, and outside the archipelagic waters of an archipelagic state. Under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the high seas are open to all states and none may claim sovereignty over them. Freedoms there include navigation, overflight, fishing and laying submarine cables.
