Maritime court

A specialized court that exercises jurisdiction over cases arising from activities on navigable waters, including oceans, seas, and certain rivers and lakes. These courts handle matters such as shipping, navigation, marine commerce, and injuries occurring at sea. In the United States, federal district courts have original jurisdiction over most admiralty and maritime cases.
