Implied warranty of fitness

A guarantee that goods are suitable for a particular purpose when the buyer relies on the seller's expertise to select appropriate goods. This warranty arises when the seller knows the buyer's specific purpose for the goods and that the buyer is relying on the seller's skill or judgment. It is distinct from the implied warranty of merchantability and can be disclaimed under the Uniform Commercial Code.
