Jurisdictional amount

The minimum or maximum monetary value of a dispute that a particular court is authorized to hear. This threshold determines whether a case falls within the financial limits of a court's subject matter jurisdiction. For example, small claims courts have a lower jurisdictional amount than general civil courts.
