Lineal consanguinity

A direct blood relationship between individuals, where one person is a direct descendant of the other. This includes relationships such as parent and child, grandparent and grandchild, or great-grandparent and great-grandchild. It is a key concept in inheritance law, determining the order of succession to an estate when there is no will.
