Major life activity

A fundamental activity that an average person can perform with little or no difficulty. These activities include caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping, walking, standing, lifting, bending, speaking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, and working. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) uses this concept to determine if an individual has a disability.
