Ownership in common

A form of co-ownership where two or more individuals hold undivided interests in the same property, but without the right of survivorship. Each co-owner can sell, mortgage, or devise their share independently. This arrangement differs from joint tenancy, where a deceased owner's interest automatically passes to the surviving co-owners.
