Survivor

An individual who outlives another person or group, particularly in legal contexts such as inheritance, joint tenancy, or insurance policies. This status determines rights to property, benefits, or claims after a death. In joint tenancy with right of survivorship, the surviving owner automatically receives the deceased owner's share of the property.
